Lately, I've been feeling the need to create something tangible. I'm not able to scratch that itch at work any more since I stopped writing code and moved into management. Photography has been a creative outlet for me since I was young and my father introduced me to the art. When my kids were young, photography took a back seat, but now that they're older I'm able to get back into it a bit. I've always enjoyed just observing the environment around me and photographing things I find that have some interesting quality. I'm still always looking for things to photograph, but have also been wondering if I might some day be able to make money from photography. I don't enjoy photographing people so that put's a big dent in the number of opportunities for professional photography. However, I recently came across an ad for the online photography school Photigy.
It was then that I realized that I might really enjoy doing product photography. So I signed up for their 'Complete Guide to Product Photography' course and I've really been enjoying it. There's so much for me to learn and I've decided to use this blog to document my journey. Wish me luck :)
